Nicky founded Calypso in 2004 when she happened to find herself in the right place at the right time. She has worked in the Greeting Card Industry since 1995 and before that was a Sales Rep for Penguin Books in France. Never one to do anything half-heartedly, when she is not working she loves windsurfing, dancing and travel.
Theresa has been with Calypso Cards almost from the beginning. She has had a hand in almost all areas of the company and now concentrates on managing inventory. When she's not in her corner office, you might find her in the corner of a wrestling ring!
Shayla has been with Calypso since 2007. She’s worked in many areas of the company but her current focus is sales & marketing. Most of her time is spent working in the office but you can also find her on the road in the Boston area, servicing her accounts, and several times a year working the tradeshows in New York City. Her interests include reading, traveling, sewing, cooking, genealogical research and getting her exercise groove on at the gym.
Betsy Sarles, Calypso Cards' art director, is a graphic designer with a degree from the Rhode Island School of Design. She lives in Rhinebeck, New York, where she is partner, with her husband, in the Philidor Company. She has two children, Milo and Zelda, as well as large and small dogs and a backyard full of chickens. Her career has spanned design and production work in the fields of art and architecture, as well as in specialty books.
Erin joined the Calypso team after the move the Providence. Her previous experience has been in customer service, but you can now find her processing the many Calypso orders we receive each day. She enjoys reading, art, watching TV, and spending time with her family.
Wendy Baker, who handles our Accounts Receivable, has worked in the field since 2007, she has a degree in Business Management and is pursuing a Masters in Hospitality Event Planning. She is married and has two children, she enjoys to read, bike, and hike. She is looking forward to becoming a bigger part of Calypso in the years to come!
